Mitchell's close friend Angela passed away through a fatal car accident when she was only fifteen years old. Mitchell had a very difficult encounter with this tragedy incident, and Angela was the inspiration behind Mitchell's song Angel in Mitchell's debut album. Mitchell also spoke about her experience within Chicken Soup, for Preteen Souls and 7th Heaven: Nothing Endures But Change.
