Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child was born into a family in South London. Her mother and father were both English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was 14 years old. She was a student of acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While attending the academy, she performed in several stage productions such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe launched her acting career with the movie Storm Damage. She's appeared as a guest for Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following this acclaim, she played Elisha in her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN as well as on six of the episodes Trexx and Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi, the lead role in the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was a star in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. She has performed as a character in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 with The drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before it was ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe had appeared in all episodes of the series' second season as a regular. However, in May of 2013, news broke that Madekwe will leave the show after her guest appearance in the opening episode for its third season. From 2014-2016, Madekwe starred as Tituba in the TV series Salem. From June to July 2012, Madekwe married her long-time boyfriend, actor Iddo Goldberg. They both appeared on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They also played together in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario and was a part of a large family. Four of her older brothers were present as well including twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. All of her brothers were athletic and played baseball and hockey during the winter and summer months. Her childhood was spent in stadiums and played baseball. Ashley could never walk but she was able to dance. When she turned two-and-a-half she started Baby Ballet and fell in the love. Ashley became a dancer immediately. After graduating from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet and pointe as well as acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical and hip hop. Every important dance competitions, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which have awarded her the honor of "top soloist".
